    Having read further, I decided to drop this. Without a doubt, Mitsuba Monogatari is the weakest of Nanasawa Matari's works. The Girl Who Bore the Flame Ring and The Girl Who Devoured the Reaper are both significantly better works, especially in regards to world-building and characters.

    Something tells me the artist has never spent any time in the desert. People in the desert dress in a particular way for a reason, because it's very hot. Seeing maid dresses and western suits in the first chapter immediately broke any suspension of disbelief for me.
