I'd like it if Kaiji grows sensible and stops gambling, but half the fun is in seeing Kaiji squirming and rest is in him coming out victorious.
Also, why the hell there is Sanji in those last pages?
Idk if it was there in the raws or translators did it on their own, but the way Miyoshi dropped -san from Kaiji by the end, is simply amazing. Showcases the change in equation and their opinion of Kaiji. Could have never imagined this in the second part.
Just a few chapters ago Kaiji was apologizing to Miyoshi for saying fuck you in his mind. Everyone can make a mistake while panicking. And now everything is becoming clear to him about how he was roped in to dig his own grave by them. Peak tragedy so far.
No matter how many times I reread this, that last panel always makes me awestruck. There's just something with the art and flow of action in that still image.
Even though I knew that it's incomplete and story was supposed to continue in Part 2, the ending hits too hard. I simply can't NOT hope for its revival.
Absolute Trash.
Mangaka has just a few postures and panels. Even then some of them have been reused repeatedly. My dead grandma looks more alive than any of the characters.
