Isn't that exactly what author is exploring here though? He's basically discussing what is and isn't a an intimate relationship, and how people who don't feel traditional romantic or sexual attraction fit into modern society.

I really like that this manga is really exploring what constitutes an "intimate relationship". I don't know how in the know the author is about the discourse, but it's really cool to see more explorations of hetero and allo-normativity in Manga.

To me this reads as an aromantic experience. Though that may be just personal. It seems to me that Ricchan isn't personally disinterested in Waku, but rather does experience traditional romantic attraction, and is worried that her inability to feel those feelings is detrimental to Waku.
