You're mixing up his statements and making assumptions. Yes he says in your example there that he can't withstand 3 full spell crests, and that 2.5x is ok. The problem is that you're talking about output, not cost. This 2.6x limit example is regarding body strengthening, which must be sustained...

You say that, but it also explicitly said on page 29 that it "consumes a ridiculous amount of mana just to open the storage space". Of course, it doesn't look like it troubles him to cast either spell in the following pages, so their actual mana costs is all hearsay.

Why use mana to summon the lord from anywhere when you can spend mana twice to store then unstore it anywhere!
