I was confused too. I didn't expect a big fight with the medusa given the mangas nature, but completly skipping it was kinda weird

So he knows she has good intentions and a good character, wants to help her, but hesitates to upgrade her skills on the soulboard ?! Given the assassination attempt last chapter he should be more than eager to help her defend herself. I don't quite understand his hesitation
