This is just my assumption from someone that don't read the novel version. My guess is his "core power" is more appropriate to be something like "Delete" than "Instant Kill" . Since killing mean to make something "not alive" . If we consider his power as "Delete" then even the power of "Concept"...

@cloud04 it said in the novel version that he only has to think of killing them is enough to use his power. The reason he say it out loud is just because it's easier to pinpoint the target than just thinking them in his head.
