I really do appreciate how this manga duels try to keep the over the top feel of the anime while being closer to real life. It's not exactly the same since the stakes aren't remotely as high, but it's definitely still thoroughly entertaining. It definitely helps that the characters are likable...

I started reading this recently because of the upcoming anime and having fun with all of the craziness, including chefs literally poisoning the judges, but I don't see how the manga can top potential mad cow disease.
Yeah, this manga felt like it wrapped up pretty much all the loose ends whereas that other one seemed to leave some important plot points unrelated to the central romance wide open before the ending.
