I see. I've always thought earnings through ads that arent NSFW are always meager and isnt really enough to cover the site maintenance. I think I heard someone say they earn more if the ads showing are R18+ but that's also something they want to avoid so they're stuck with "low paying" ads. TIL.

I honestly dont understand why some scan group would go out of their way to create a website and maintain it (which obviously costs money) now that sites like Dex and B.2 are back where you can post your work as a supposed to be fan of the series.
