I might be misremembering because it's been a while, but I don't recall Alba killing Touko in the novels either. In the novels Alba at least gets to try his spells on Touko's cat projection, which didn't do anything and he ends up getting bailed by Araya as well.

Not really. Touko's cat projection almost killed Alba before Souren Araya interferes, killing the cat along with Touko. Later another Touko arrives and summons an eldritch monster that literally eats Alba alive, with Araya claiming the weird eldritch creature could possibly kill him, but Touko...

I hate this. Judith is a genuinely endearing character. I hope she is not killed permanently. Ageha honestly feels more like a villain character at this point.

On the other hand she'd be dead or turned into a monster by now had her brain not being transplanted.
