I love this distorted ending, Aoi lied in his journal entry about him committing suicide, just to protect the very person who would obviously betray and kill him. This was a good read for its length, not too short and not too drawn out.

50 bucks says that the author is going to drop this within 2 months.

I wonder how his shogi life is gonna potentially interfere with their relationship. :-)

I'm guessing that the author wants to move onto other projects and/or having to write out even more story for these characters probably would've ended up worse instead of just doing a timeskip.

I'm fine with this being a shorter manga for sure, I think I would be dropping this if it aimed to be some 60+ chapter cliffhanger fest.

Such a satisfying ending for a side story. Loved reading it from start to finish.
