It is really well done, totally agree. The moments where she has confidence or posturizes they also draw the changes in her and they are slight/almost missable but they are present.

I understand the author having to come up with a premise over a very simple but popular introduction but the layers they are adding are only confusing and anachronous with the usual story of a hero and its party. I don't know if they can un fck it up at this point.
