Nothing that happened so far is too unreasonable for this type of story. It baffles me why people are doing indepth character analysis on a manga that is full of cliches and tropes from other popular series.

It's amusing that people are surprised or upset at this developement. This is basic stuff for weak to strong fantasy shonen. This scenario has been played out so often I would be more surprised if it didnt happen.
