Okay I think you need to reread the chapter again. He let her know that he obviously does want to do it in the future, but he cares about her too much to do it right now. That’s why she looks so happy in the last page. She just wanted reassurance that Ichikawa felt the same way as her.

This is a very super unpopular opinion, but I hope Norio focuses a bit more on other side characters. I like Moe, but I wanna see more of Nyaa and Chii (also Hanzawa once summer is over)
