Never been a fan of story depth through character death, personally. I see the appeal for those that find it grounds stories, but I didn't check in to this title for somber, depressive themes. This one's just not for me at all. Cheers to those that are enjoying it, though.

Nah, it's definitely rushing. There's a reason it's referred to as an exposition dump. Plus, it was immediately followed by rapid romantic development. The theme of the story doesn't change what constitutes bad/rushed pacing. I mean, this is literally chapter 6.
