I wonder if Tojo (assuming it’s actually her behind this) is testing Kitami by saying that no matter what he does, he’ll never be graduated, and seeing if he continues helping her out of genuine remorse or if he’ll just stop because there’s nothing in it for him.
He literally says they have a spare room on page 25. Besides, at this point he still (somehow) thinks that Akane hates him, and that she and Himari are on good terms
This isn’t going to be another one of those “utterly reprehensible character who’s constantly nasty to the mc but has a tragic backstory so all is forgiven and now we’re forced to like them as they become a recurring character” tropes, is it?

I'm not sure if it'd be more offensive if the fight actually ends this fast after so many chapters of unimportant backstory, or if it drags out for another 20 chapters
Ah yes, "this guy wiped out half our men single handedly and we don't know how he did it, so let's do the logical thing and throw our remaining half at him and hope for a different outcome". Seems fine to me.
