As a 2 time visitor to Kiyomizudera, my recommendation is to NOT go there at all unless you really like jostling with crowds lol
any awe at the architecture is sapped by the sheer tourist crowds. there are lots of other places in Kyoto to enjoy the time, especially the manga museum for weebs.
