As silly as the whole 'we've gotta date in secret so nobody finds out' trope always is when it's used, it's nice this issue was resolved in a mature way, rather than the male lead seeing his girlfriend smile at another man and immediately going to float in the pool to cry-jerk it.

It would honestly be hilarious if, after all this time, she was actually after his brother. Machiavellian villain Houjou's machinations lay undetected for years. At least it'd be something new, rather than the regularly scheduled 2-3 chapters of manga misunderstandings (TM).

I think this is the first time someone's done the 'so this happened to a friend of mine...' bit and it did actually just happen to a friend of theirs, rather than being a personal story they're embarrassed about.

Something about the way the panel borders are semi-transparent makes me feel like the cat section is supposed to be a flashback, since it's got that kinda 'foggy' feel to it. Just taking a wild guess though.
