I think the editors tried to give the dude more freedom and they realized the ratings went down fast with how long they were dragging.

I'm more curious about what happened to him at school. Did he catch a teacher catching a case or something and fought the dude?

this series had so much potential, but the constant dragging and not letting the MC do his thing or flesh the side characters more sucks
