Osoraku Kanojo wa Ore no Aniki wo Neratteru - Ch. 22

See here's the thing i love about this manga: it takes up familiar tropes (prince charming, swooning fans, gynophobia, smug pixie dream girl), plays them up for laughs, deconstructively drives home their logical repercussions, then reconstructs the tropes by giving us peeks into their inner...

Osananajimi Kanojo no Morahara ga Hidoin de Zetsuen Sengen shite Yatta - Vol. 5 Ch. 50.1

On a meta level, i find it intriguing how despite its trashiness, people are still motivated to continue reading, and got worked up enough to explode the comments thread. I'm curious, what are the common elements between dumpster fire stories that we kept loving to hate (think domekano...

Osananajimi Kanojo no Morahara ga Hidoin de Zetsuen Sengen shite Yatta - Vol. 5 Ch. 49.2

On a meta level, i find it intriguing how despite its trashiness, people are still motivated to continue reading, and got worked up enough to explode the comments thread (over a hundred posts within the first few hours of the chapter's release). I'm curious, what are the common elements between...

Osoraku Kanojo wa Ore no Aniki wo Neratteru - Ch. 17.5

He seems taller in page 3 1st panel though?

Groundless - Vol. 11 Ch. 51 - The Wildcat Never Sleeps

Holy shettt that was so intense, the suspense, the dread, the atmosphere... My wife's looking at me weird as i cover parts of the page to avoid spoilers as i cautiously creep through panel by panel, what an ironic analogy to what these characters are going through.

Chanto Suki tte Ieru Ko Musou - Vol. 1 Ch. 3 - Versus the Ice Princess

To me it's peak right from chapter 1, with the mini chara intro arcs of what would have served well as separate romcoms on their own, mashed together to hype up the heroines on a collision course into an epic clash, only to be deconstructed by the decisive action of an otherwise stranger...

Kusunoki-san wa Koukou Debut ni Shippai Shite Iru - Ch. 44.1 - Why do I even like him? (First Part)

Kusunoki was presumed to be intended to win primarily because her name was in the title, but if we go by the "First Girl wins" trope, then Hebikawa would qualify, what with her being MC's first crush, even despite the follow up crash. Even his later "begone thot" repulsions seem not to come out...

Isekai Meikyuu no Ooparts - Vol. 1 Ch. 4.1 - Iron Fruit and a Handy Blunt Weapon

Warrior hero's suggestion to eat dungeon monsters got promptly shot down by the elf mage eh? Maybe the mangaka's giving us a wink wink nudge nudge shout out to Dungeon Meshi?

Osananajimi Kanojo no Morahara ga Hidoin de Zetsuen Sengen shite Yatta - Vol. 5 Ch. 44

I’ve got some pretty irreconcilable mixed feelings about this manga. On one hand, I love how the characters actually talk to clear up misunderstandings, and the conflicts feel grounded. Even the antagonists have understandable (though still unacceptable) motivations. That’s a refreshing change...

Osananajimi Kanojo no Morahara ga Hidoin de Zetsuen Sengen shite Yatta ~Jibun Rashiku Ikiru Koto ni Shitara, Naze ka Tonari no Seki no Kakure Bishouj…

Do you/anybody have any manga recommendations that handles drama well? Seems like a tricky thing to balance between too much melodrama vs a boring plot, to make characters act believably consistent (and have satisfying agency) yet not be too predictable.

Momose Akira no Hatsukoi Hatan-chuu. - Ch. 40 - Lost in the Midsummer Daze

Is it just me, but it seems off the top of my head that whenever romcom manga characters brandish amusement park/movie tickets, they would always just carelessly get it all crumpled up?

Anta to Osananajimitte dake demo Iyananoni! ~Zekkou kara Hajimaru S-kyuu Bishoujo to no Gakuen Nariagari Seikatsu~ - Ch. 5

What other childhood friend abuse story is that? Seems like something that i might enjoy with more brain muscles than this one, which is still entertaining mind you, in a junkfood way, not to forget the pretty art.

Kaijin Mira no Dai-2 Keitai ga Kawaisugiru - Vol. 4 Ch. 37 - True Feelings

There's something refreshing about how this manga consistently surprising us with the characters' hidden depths beneath their archetypal roles. The hero is uprighteous yet is relatably self-aware of his own shortcomings. The monster's monstrosity is not just done for the evilulz but was borne of...

    “Okaeri, Papa” - Ch. 29 - Admiration

Man, if pulled off right, that'd be an awesome sleight-of-hand plot twist playing with the readers' smug genre-savviness to trip themselves up with tropey dramatic irony... But the payoff still need to be narratively meaningful instead of just a haha gotcha nothingburger.

Yajin Tensei: Karate Survivor in Another World - Vol. 9 Ch. 61 - The Depths of an Otherworld Forest

Dang that's some dark shit indeed. Gonna be tough to redeem oneself from such gruesome acts. If the manga ever treads the same plotline, i hope it'd be handled in a more empathisable way instead of just for shock and gorn effect.
