March Comes in Like a Lion - Ch. 208

Gotta say, I've never seen that development (knight on the head), though having both players do it is actually kind of balanced. Makes me think of those meme images of people wearing silly horse head costumes! (More usual is the "silver crown" development of the Mino castle, where you shift...

Boku no Tsuma wa Kanjou ga Nai - Vol. 7 Ch. 41

It would be funny if that guy wasn't actually an android, but a human chuuni pretending to be one. Why else have obviously displayed robot arm?

Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru - Vol. 7 Ch. 92 - The 92nd move

That shogi piece / character name pun was a big deal in another shogi manga: Mononofu. It was shown on one of the covers, where each character held their corresponding piece. They didn't extend the pun to the game strategy like this though!

@alacaelum: Promethea was a graphic novel by Alan Moore, in which imagination made reality often featured, as well as the occult, Tarot, and Hermetic Qabalah.

    Paranoia Cage - Vol. 1 Ch. 5

This was the last place I expected an 81-diver reference! (I thought the weird typesetting was just the translators fault....)

Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru - Vol. 6 Ch. 69 - The 69th move

all the posts about "nice animation" had me confused, until I remembered the new "data saver" preference MangaDex just added! Turn that off and refresh to see the final page animation.

Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru - Vol. 6 Ch. 69 - The 69th move

Finally a shogi problem but only one shogi poster? Not nice. To answer that question: Not quite, because then the king can just take it. As for rules, note that the flyer gives you the moves of the three pieces in use (king, pawn, and tokin (promoted pawn, moves like the gold general)...

Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru - Vol. 4 Ch. 42 - The 42nd move

From the board on page 104 (copied in @Tamerlane's comment below), the translation on page 103 should be: "My Horse on 7-2 and King on 8-1, your Silver on 9-3, you have Rook and Silver in hand." (Horse is promoted Bishop, moves like a King + Bishop.) And the solution is:

The gravestone (kakuryuuo) is a shogi reference: Bishop-Dragon. Not sure if it has any deeper meaning though...
