If she died from a car accident why would he distance herself? It's not like she died protecting him from an event that would still happen in the altered timeline...if she just died in a random accident, if anything he should find out which accident/day and try to make sure she stays safe that day, it makes no sense lol

I need to re-read it because I've read it a few weeks ago, but if I'm not mistaken she died because she was gonna go give hibi a letter on his last day of school asking to be his friend at least , so technically she died because of him, after he comes back to the past he sees himself as the cause of it all miku's death and mio's guilt in lying to him and he should stay away so they can be happy with someone else. He's happy in just changing their future
