so Sadakiyo isn't dead. But... does that mean he's this man? or is he the replacement "Friend"? hm. If Sadakiyo isn't "Friend", it would have to be a real nonsensical character, someone pulled right out of the ether. Possibly the science lab ghost, or Yamane (we never did figure out what happened to him after the shooting...). Donkey seems like quite the stretch considering his ideology and his current status as dead, so definitely not.

That's the whole point of Kiriko flashback when she's testing the vaccine. There's the second kid wearing the same mask as Sadakiyo playing with Yamane and Fukubei. And she doesn't who's the second masked kid is.

Sadakiyo was an awkward child, that's why he's always wearing a mask. He played with Fukubei because he's the only one want to talked to him. Even then Fukubei was an asshole and always threatened him. His mannerisms in this chapter just like a child and adult Sadakiyo.
