I want to make my usual "one of the endings of all time" joke, but let's be honest: that wasn't an ending. Not even in the usual "axed" ending where they just finish the arc with a "their story continues (even if we don't see it)" concluding statement
If you had told me the series was legit cancelled as in "they just stopped production immediately, no "one last chapter" wrap-ups, no endings, just dead in the water effective immediately" I'd believe you.
….or the mangaka already have
something on serialization and didn’t plan it to be anything but a short single volume story on Pixiv print-on-demand for Valentines Day 2024 - it was already an
extrapolation of a 2 chapter single-shot. They are already together as a couple since chapter 4, he started understanding how she expresses her emotions in chapters 5 and 6, she talked about him to her girlfriends on chapter 7, had no issues laying on the same bed together since chapter 8, called each other by their last names or cared enough about each other to influence each other’s looks or talk about moving in together, they were mutually much more expressive by the middle of chapter 10 - that little “oh crap, I’ll eventually have to deal with your dog when I go visit your parents, I’ll try my best” is a cute way of showing our guy locking in - yep, she’s pretty much on the wifey track.
For a manga that started out about them complaining about being uncomfortable with societal norms on relationships, they somehow found comfort and happiness with each other simply by being themselves, which is a decent place to end that story. There was supposed to be an after-word on page 125 of the e-book/tankobon, but I doubt there’s much in terms of plot continuation.
Thanks for wrapping it up
