Why do so many protagonists cling to rice like it's the world's greatest food? I've grown up with it (and its various types) and it's not that special. It's a staple food, and we ate it every other meal or somtimes every meal because it was cheap. From just rice to Texas hash and everything in-between. But I'd never treat it like isekai do. It makes no sense to me.

Idk, all I can say is "tastebuds, man." I grew up eating Japonica and Calrose rice and I 100% would be just like an isekai MC if I were away from it for too long. Bread, pasta, potatoes, etc I could live without if I needed to, but I'd go crazy without rice.

Edit: tbf tho, most other types of rice other than Japonica and Calrose are mediocre at best and to expect another world to have anything as tasty as those strains would be ludicrous

This guy... rice and chopsticks!?! You live in a fantasy world and you obsess over magic and to make chopsticks (the inefficient fork)

Also, Marle is officially bipollar. This crazy person started the chapter complaing that she has been sitting around in a castle for 10 days. The first day she gets out of it she complains that the hero is not taking it too fast? Beach, you have been sitting on your butt for 10 days doing pretty much nothing.

Well,I can understand him! As an Italian I eat pasta every day as a first course! So I would definitely be overjoyed to find fresh pasta in another world!
