That does seem to describe things fairly well.
Although, my impression was that something bad was happening with his original train, like it was starting to go off the tracks; that there would be no survivors from his world of origin.

Yeah. There does seem to be a bit of that.
However, part of it may also be his seeing himself as being responsible for her, as they are both strangers to this world, and, while not his wife from his world of origin, every indication does support her being a cognate of his wife. But... there's a sense that she's not as mentally sharp as his wife was, the implication being that the cat demi-humans aren't as capable mentally, so even if she's not quite his wife, he doesn't want to abandon her. And she does seem attached to him, emotionally.
So, the question remains, how happy is he with Nyaachi Not-Yuu? And, while they are sleeping in the same bed, is there anything beyond that occuring there? He does seem like the sort who wouldn't do bed activities without a certain level of attachment being felt, does he feel that level of attachment as of yet? Is it possible for him to, given her apparent mental level?
