This guy makes a fair point. I mean without protected status or essential you can't bring allies with you in games. I mean in skyrim you would never bring an important npc with you unless it was essential. Unfortunately that by itself makes every fight cheese because you can't really lose thanks to OP companions. So then you have to find mods to fix that and let npcs go down without dying and not get back up until you win.
