Oh wow, what a weird point of view from the father, which I never could have imagined myself.

In the real world, the father's point should be taken at face value because that kind of people are truly snobbish pieces of shit who don't think about regular people. But given the background of this story with the revolution I can see he might be forced into that mindset because of worse nobles, and has to act like them to be effective as a contention measure.

I think the rival's father might know him very well and have this impression too, for what he said to his son in an earlier chapter. We will see, the relationships are forming in an interesting way.
