I'm curious if 12 years later Rinko still needs to pay Haruno

Thank you for the translation!
Probably if he either formally hired him him or she’s trying to thank him for taking care of her, or wants to keep him in her life, because the only good thing that’s ever happened to her since her mother went away

Culinary is only really good for the tippy-top. The people starting out, or the mainliners? You get paid not very good money and have a lot of stress, plus the schmucks that get picked up off the street can get paid the same wage without having gone through culinary school. I've learned a hell of a lot when I was in, but it's definitely not where you want to go if you want to be above the poverty line. Catering/private cheffing though, that's where the good money is. A couple gigs a month, $500 paid in cash/under-the-table is an excellent supplement to your nine-to-five.

Timid girl wishing for a normal life, that's a surprise.

Rinko for a 12yo is much more mature than Haruno, makes you wonder how the hell he end up that way all the way to his age.

I'm surprised Haruno actually cleaned up the house and named the fish "Sensei" to boot, Rinko should train him out of the drinking habit now.
