Probably cause longer series have to drag out their plot to 100+ chaps when they could have just done it in way less.

In these types of short manga they can get to the point of the story without the dumb fillers those long manga have.

I refuse to read Rent a GF lol specially now that we know the mangaka wants to marry one of his creations lol. But series like Domestic Girlfriend or Ichigo 100% managed to have constant character growth over huge chapter counts so I feel like it's just a drop in writer quality over wheel spinning in general.

I agree with this to some extent, but yeah like my above post series have done better in the past it's been like the last I dunno 5 years or so the quality overall has dropped. Or series that have isekai as a genre for ch1 then forgotten afterwards just to get the tag. But yeah I assume some or half of the fault is with the editors too.
