Don’t worry guys, he’s one of the GOOD slavers!

This is somehow way worse than most other manga that have had slave shit in it because usually the MCs don’t go around praising the slavers and it’s supposed to be an unsavory practice. Here it’s like the author just wanted to have it in the story and instead of saying “it’s bad” he tried justifying it for some reason.

Was genuinely in awe reading this shit. Kept waiting to turn the page and see her heel turn and be like “did they expect me to believe all that shit?” And the rest of the chapter is tearing the operation down but nope, played completely straight.

My question is: literally what is the point of including slavery if you're going to pull this shit? If you recognize slavery is taboo enough that you feel the need to go "but look, she's buying ethically sourced slaves! It's fine!" then why put it in your story like this? She could've literally just gone to like, a fantasy temp agency or w/e and nothing would change. I get that she's worried about the potential servant's loyalty, but there are a thousand ways to ensure someone will be loyal to you that isn't buying them as a slave. Like, i don't know, rescuing them from slavery because slavery is bad, putting them in your debt, perhaps..? Needlessly shoehorning in slavery just tanks the MC's likeability.
