Here's my suggestion: the public library! Make a project about how students who don't even have smartphones or computers still have accessible resources.

Some of the Twitter replies mention a smartphone date, but what kind of person would go that far for a mere classmate? A phone also requires an extra expense (as a monthly contract or pay-as-you-go plan)! He'd probably be spooked by that.
