It's hilarious watching this man get "his" toothbrush idea copied and in the exact same episode, he calls himself a genius for knowing more stuff. The guy didn't learn a thing from what happened just a while ago... Being knowledgeable and being a genius are completely different things... Not that the MC should be knowledgeable in the first place. It was established in the first episode that he's supposed to have led a life with no first hands experience whatsoever with things related to businesses, finance or economics in general)

A murim story staying true to its murim roots.
An inspiring civilization building story.
A feels-good story of an enthusiastic merchant.

This story tries to become all of them but fails at every turn.
And this come from a reader who only read a handful of chapters? Less than 10 chapters, I guess?

Some of us quite like this story. Same with the Greatest Estate Dwveloper. 😁

Dropped at ch 71 with the latest chapters and the next superpower scam jumping the shark, as if that were possible in a story about always having a hidden win card. Thanks translators though!

Review: I should have dropped this early on, and it hasn't changed since, but sunk cost fallacy got me every time a slew of chapters arrived. It's rarely bad, rarely good, but it's never great. Save yourself the time. The power fantasy stuff is mighty convenient, but the merchant tricks and wuxia tricks are light fare.

The flag I should've dropped at is (super early, barely spoiler) when lil sis' is supposedly treasured by MC, but when her early situation is resolved she vanishes like mist compared to dad and older bro. In itself, fine, sure, the starting arc in general is eventually jetisoned. It's bizarre that multiple women are built up as important but they always have simpler arcs and characterizations than the guys at their cast tier / job title, and the guys are already fairly paper thin. We're not aliens ffs, so it's weird character writing to leave one gender even more automaton-ish... which should've clued me into the author writing nothing deep or outside their own experience with power fantasy tropes. New girl, new arc, worst trajectory so far.

worth dropping. i was going to consider keeping on past ch25 but the power fantasy is too real for someone who doesn't have an ounce of his own ideas.

i also cannot respect someone who wants to bring mcdonalds to murim

The body proportions of the characters are truly monstrous. And it's just wrong when they draw from top-down perspectives. Abomination.

Honestly, the story would have been better if he didn't become some martial genius. It should have stayed more like a murim Sengoku Komachi Kuroutan: Noukou Giga.

This rings so true now that the MC has now openly held a sacred cultural artefact of a foreign culture directly in front of its two members while threatening to steal their cultural techniques, and the story runs that as a positive.

Otherwise MC is shit. No personality, no thoughts. Just a get strong monger surrounded by people who in any other story would have things to do with their talent, and are instead subordinated to him and his extraordinary math magic. This is just a shit manhwa.

This story reads like it switches authors every few chapters, and nobody continues the previous author's arc. Enjoying the current story? Just wait a few chapters, and it will be completely different.
