I honestly don't mind the bad end route that the story took; not all stories needs a redemption arc.
Sure, the ending is abrupt, but whatever feelings that Clauden had before towards Luan has now been completely shattered and turned to dust.
For what I can see, their relationship seems beyond fixing.

Also, I'm sort of glad the author stood by their choice and clarified that the upcoming side stories are entirely optional.
That said, I do hope they create another route where Clauden finds new happiness, far away from Luan/ML.

What a complete waste of time. The tragic ending wasn’t even executed well. Just literally felt like a waste of time I could have spent doing literally anything else. I love a tragedy but this was just rushed and terrible writing that fell apart at the end. Angst is supposed to have meaning and leave you with something to reflect on. Like the complicated emotions that get in the way of happiness. It wasn’t really believable and the ending just feels out of place. I get the author was trying to show he was naive but somebody that goes this far for a taboo love and was so patient just snapping like that and giving up and even using his power imbalance to abuse a villager was so nasty. Just another gross rich count story where he abuses the powerless villager he showered with love making the villager and anyone of lower class feel like they’re stupid to ever trust somebody with money bc they’ll always be oppressive. How can he even apologize for having this guy he lead on for years beaten nearly to death? Who cares about side chapters, this can’t be saved. If they end up together it will just feel like power imbalance domestic abuse bs. Like that’s all it took to make you snap and order somebody to be beaten? You have to power to have anyone there beaten or even killed…yeah no thanks. Poor Claude

Even the villagers make it clear the author is trying to excuse it! “Well it’s not his fault that us greedy dirty peasants bullied that poor innocent rich noble trying to get money because we live with massive wealth disparity caused by the government and nobles. Anyone would snap and use their overwhelming power to punish us”. EW. With power comes responsibility and he’s not any different than all the other spoiled jerks.
