So I was reading wetriedtls’ novel translation. This is hardly a spoiler but first 40 chapters or so are pretty great. But it gets more and more convoluted afterwards. I dropped it around chapter 200 something. It doesn’t help it’s a shitty MTL, where the “translator” doesn’t keep track of the terms and names.
Supposedly the author was heavily influenced by Reincarnated Swordmaster, another Korean cultivation novel. If I didn’t know that, I’d just assume it’s someone who tries to mix Lord of the Mysteries, and Reverend Insanity. Both are Chinese cultivation novels. Like I can see the author as someone who thinks Reverend Insanity was a bit too formulaic, and tries to add some quality and complex writing. Well, “quality” according to that someone anyways. I don’t know if Koreans, especially the author, read these Chinese novels. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they did.
There is hardly anything Korean about this novel. It’s pretty much a Chinese xianxia novel with Korean names.
