Tricky one to summarise, art is so very pretty, protag is frustrating to read because she was written in a way that her anxiety is valid but she doesn't do anything else to root for, the world building is kinda intruiging if a little stereotypical. I wish they had introduced the pomegranate/underworld thing better. The characters are very much, we like these ppl vs we don't like these ppl in a 2d typa way.

In all, if you haven't read many webtoons you might like it but if you're a veteran you will be bored

I like these types of stories because it’s fun to see an emotionally broken protagonist obtain self worth. Nearly 30 chapters in and she hasn’t even started emotionally healing yet. I understand why she’s acting this way, so hopefully the story starts progressing soon.

This feels like misery porn, every single time a nice thing happens she has to taint it as something bad, fucking hell, it's not "reallistic" either, even the most depressed people will smile once in a while. Haven't dropped it cuz hessaros is the cutest but god is she annoying.

Obtain a gift, "You shouldn't waste it on me". Someone compliment, "I'm just that worthless tho..". Someone help, "I shouldn't rely on them".
The fact that she knows Lorraine stole her power, then she must have known that L also manipulated behind the scenes. Yet... All MC does is just self-deprecating. We understand that the MC has low self- esteem but man.. the story is just being overly edgy because it thinks that's cool and sad.
There're many.. and I mean many depressing stories such as this but are far better executed. Try reading "Karina's Last days " and you'll see the difference. Karina is on the verge of death so she tries to change herself, and yet, this MC got a second chance at life and this is what she does... bruh :0

Some say it's bad because MC doesn't do anything to step out of her broken life, when it's literally what it means to be someone with a trauma and to be someone who is self-depracating.
Her entourage needs to and heals her ego because she can't find it in her to do that herself, since she tends to see only the worse in her and that is the meaning of self-depracating.
Only then will she be able to have a feeling of achieving things for herself when doing something rather than a feeling of dread, fearing other's people reactions.

So here, you won't have your typical trope of a strong woman who rises up against her oppressors just because that's what you'd want them to do, they can't do that exactly because they have a trauma of being bullied and that's realistic.
Don't get me wrong, it's still satisfying to see this type of trope when it's well done, which isn't the case most of the time since mc in these stories is just getting bullied blatantly without rest it's not even funny.

In this story, mc doesn't constantly get abused/bullied/betrayed. She's receiving care most of the time and is insecure about it, fearing that it's all a lie and it will stop some day. So it's actually gratifying when she's happy and it doesn't feel like a soap opera. And it doesn't feel like sh*t because for some reason any other character is after her neck.

However, it's true that mc was sulking for a bit too long at first, the plot could have moved on a bit faster.

Edit : I put this on hold after the scanlation group changed, since LuaScans tl makes the narrative feel chessy and childish.
Their translation is straight up wrong sometimes or just gibberish and I actually lost my enthusiasm to read this series after one chapter.

This means I probably won't finish reading this, but oh well, there's so much variety published everyday that I don't feel like I'm losing much.
