For someone who seems to be smart, trying to charge that phone was a dumb ass move.
Here's what we/they know.
A) monsters came out of smartphones
B) those smartphones had drained batteries
Conclusion: the battery was drained when the monster was summoned
Hypothesis: charging the battery will summon another monster.
