Choices... Consequences.

I entirely understand what Carrie feels, and I agree with her compassion, but here is the thing... people make their decisions too, and they have to deal with the consequences of such.

Dwant's life has been entirely marked by that, and he didn't deal with it well.

The comments here are kinda irritating, of course the weaponsmith will try to stop the hero, it's her uncle who is literally the only relative and family she has down there. She's in shock and anyone with even a bit of compassion will try to find a way to save their uncle without killing him. Would you believe someone immediately if someone says they need to kill the person you love immediately because there's no other way without explaining?
Welcome to the comment section for any manga ever, buddy. Where everyone suddenly becomes a super cool pragmatic badass who knows for sure, one hundred percent, that they’d never hesitate to kill anyone or not want somebody else to kill them if they were in their way.
Agreed, and worst of all... people think that that is thinking with their heads... it isn't.

"Pragmatism" is not right by default, and it is not a hardcoded set of precepts, it is a way of thinking based on an objective, and it needs flexibility and empathy like any other to be really of use.

Let's hope that him getting away isn't going to cause more casualties. Some part of me hopes (storywise) that they actually have to off the Uncle and a solution for his current condition isn't found(after she gives a proper goodbye I assume).

Another thing I noticed is that a lot of responses regarding situations like that either go too hard with the criticism (or vitriol in some cases) or act that it being an emotional response frees the person from any sort of criticism, with no in-between

Because is very telling the uncle is just a meat puppet by his own actions, killing him is mercy

But that's not at all what's happening here? What are you people smoking?
She is trying to stop the hero because she doesn't want her uncle to die, that's all
Her uncle was providing the weapons to kill people for years. That's not even necessarily the only option, as her dad refused to do so and just went away.

She has heard from her uncle that he is trying to kill everyone. He has been actively trying for years by building a massive machine that can kill people. He just killed multiple people to activate the people-killing machine to kill even more people.

But yea I guess it would kinda suck if the uncle dies.

So, completely side stepping the landmines of discussing the plot for the moment…

The art of Dwant being slowly turned into a reincarnation of the Demon King through his severed arm is top notch! Not only the fact that the hand kept emerging more and more from his head, but even the fact that he has five tentacles: one for each finger as well! The details are freaking great

I have to question how much of Dwant is even left. Is it even him talking at this point, or is it just the demon king talking through him?
Pretty sure it's the latter at this point. And we're going to have Maou say something like,"At least that useless dwarf was able to give me flesh once again." in future chapters.

I was just hoping for the author to bring something original in the conclusion, to surprise me with a new way of resolving this conflict for the party while not going for the easy the murder hobo hero route, just like he did a few time before in this manga, instead of just throwing the usual "no progress, no closure, everybody talk for a while during a big time freeze and in the end the bad guy escaped to come back later" shonen cliche like he did here...
