We'll this is the second manga adaption so it just started later.

But I agree; though, I wouldn't even call it slow. I'd rather say it's introspective and focused on smaller details. If you just want the normal quick romance, this isn't for you. This manga (and novel) just isn't focused on that. It's about the characters (who are unusual for this genre, in a good way) and how they slowly evolve over time. Real change takes time, is built up from smaller moments and doesn't just happen when a character has a quick sudden burst of inspiration. This one isn't about "just getting to when they're together and can go to the aquarium." Not going to be for everyone.

I'm not sure if it's the intention, but as an autistic person I can relate to Adachi a lot in general, creating new relationships is scary and you're never confident if the other person actually enjoys your presence or not, and you do kind of glue to people who are nicer to you for a while lol

This was always a weird manga tbh. The thing is... The anime adaptation made it feel like the pace was gonna pick-up. But here in the manga it just... didn't. But that's okay. I kinda understand your point tho
