I don't think it's silly. Emotions are complicated. Doesn't mean she loved the dog more than Adachi. It can just be weird like that. Plenty of people experienced similar.

She was also in a different stage of her life when the dog died compared to when Adachi dies of old age. Not really useful to compare grief like that, even less so to measure levels of grief based on the quantity of tears.

Maybe you shouldn't read obvious future spoilers for a series that you've been reading for years? That spoiler was part of a short story that was published around the release of Volume 8~9, which is very far into the story and still a fair bit away from where we are in the manga atm, so there's a lot of context and development that you lose by just reading a statement in a spoiler. Don't label something garbage when you were the one that chose to spoiler future events for yourself lmao.

And fwiw, I do agree that, on the surface, that statement does sound very bad, even awfully cold of her. But statements can be taken out of context and the core focus of the LN is about intertwining two girls with very complex personalities and emotions. Will try not to overly ramble about it here, but I think that if you were to read the full novel, then read the short story, it'll suddenly read a lot less harsh, or "garbage", than how it appears on the surface. Context and understanding is very important

Theyre technically hidden, yes, but this comment section is exactly why I dislike spoiler bombs like that. It's worse when they're presented so out of context. Misrepresents the story and characters while leaving out tons of information. Got people jumpy over nothing.
