"Resistance breeds more violence. The easiest way to stop violence is through yielding."
What sad wisdom she believes in. Initially I was going to say that must be some East Asian wisdom, but in fact it doesn't work even there. People are the same everywhere. A typical bully is a miserable human who's trying to feel better by making others even more miserable. Of course there are also the sociopaths and the sycophants, but unless it's a real psycho, none of them are looking for tough victims. They are looking for easy victims to make themselves feel better and more powerful. If the target keeps fighting back, bullies are quite likely to seek another victim that will yield. After all, bullies bully to feel better, but if they get a fist planted in their face, how are they going to feel better?
At least that's how it always seemed to me. It's also why bullies look for lonely victims. They don't want to face a whole group of people.
