Hes a fool for using shortcuts to earn friendship with The Protagonist rather then earning the mythic loot [Healer-chan's Heart] that will protect him from any hostility short of total betrayal.

MC is the actual king of demons and has existed with them for millennia. I am glad he’s actually showing how that length of time would twist the human mind. This action make perfect sense. It makes more sense to do what he did as insurance. Either way he’s going to have to deal with this hero at some point in the future.

Remember also the MC has no aspirations of world conquest. He wants Earth to be safe and full of good food. MC hates hell and the demons but he’ll use the power he had to get what he wants. Makes perfect sense.
