Tho you’d think it affecting her too would also be something the ceo would know about but I guess it can be complicated

Lost my grandmother to dementia last year. this hits real close to home.

I am assuming that the researcher has some other reason for why she switched the research. The CEO had been sincere in wanting to fund dementia research for as long as it takes, but maybe the researcher thinks that is not sustainable or something? She seems concerned about money.

Sad? Very. But also one of the least horrifying portrayals of dementia out there, with none of the "getting angry that strangers (your children) are holding you against your will while waiting for your parents (long deceased) to come rescue you from this horrible prison (a place you called home until a few years ago)" or things of that sort... but, we still have to hear the blonde guy's story, so I'm sure the arc will probably only get more uncomfortable as it goes on.
