The narration boxes on pgs 27-28 really rub me the wrong way. An interesting and complex conflict, set up for multiple chapters, resolved in a few pages without any sort of back and forth. I've really, really, really enjoyed this story so far, far more than I expected to, and this just feels intensely disappointing.
