I don't really like the ending of this. But, it's an important prototype of one of my favourite subgenres: Shoujo where at least one of the major characters is a Really Cute Kid (or maybe a nuko). There's often romance, but not with the kids who are ultimate cinnamon rolls of perfect vanilla sweetness. This is one of the earlier examples of what comes into full flower with manga like Love So Life, Gakuen Babysitters and Nukoduke.

In short: cute, though very drama-fueled. Drama involves pretty mature subjects, but the resolution are often absurdly naively simple due to the author's opinion that most awful people can be redeemed. The romance aspect is incredibly bad and nearly made me not recommend the series, but thankfully it's a very small piece of the manga on the whole.

It was great until the ending. those last 4 pages ruined my life. Fuck bittersweet endings.
