So he escaped their torture... I'd like to know if the government is actually evil and was torturing that guy to experiment or if there was/is something bigger going on. Part of me is wondering whether the author is using misdirection to make it SEEM like the government is inhumane. They could be trying to get information out of him or something... or they might really just be evil bastards lol
