I'm going to hard disagree with Akanabe's mother here. On a practical level, only allowing people close to you to see your naked body is going to limit you (public baths, public pools all off-limits). But even beyond that, hiding your body is not pride; It's shame. There's some part(s) of your body that others should not see.
Then taking into account how often women have been instructed to hide their bodies, features, assets (there's still a bigger taboo on bare female/traditionally feminine tops vs. bare male/traditionally masculine tops), taking into account how these bodies have been used as prizes or treasures (note the mom referring to Akanabe as their treasure) to be rewarded to conquering men, it all rubs me the wrong way.
Let the kid be free to walk around naked in her own house if she wants.
