For both people. An arm is not an adequate substitute for a pillow.

If you're going to sleep together, either have both sleeping on their side, then pass the arm through the neck gap and back-hug them - you know, basic spooning. Or, if you're sleeping on your back, just hold hands while sleeping, it's pretty comforting.

Or sleep while having no contact at all, but that's lame.
