if they do a Manzai performance, it feels obvious which role they would most naturally fall into. i think would be worthwhile to reverse them, have Akane be the straight man and Kaisei be the funny man.

part of why it took so long of course comes down to the somewhat patriarchal nature of rakugo that's been brought up before, but it's nice meeting another cool older woman in this story even if she's only adjacent to the world of rakugo. Akiko seems like a riot so I hope we get to see her swap stories+give advice to Akane sometime soon

but for now! The prelude to the duel...!! It's exciting getting to see Akane and Kaisei work on the fly like this, the things you do when you're not prepared are indicative of the foundation you've built up and habits you've picked up along the way so whatever this becomes could be pretty illuminating for the both of them. I'm sure our favorite airhead will kill it up there one way or another tho
