Wow. I’m normally an open minded guy, especially in manga land.

Still, even a hint that she might have fallen for Mark, the only thing that went through my head was GROSS.

Thankfully that wasn’t the case, but it’s weird it hit like that. Maybe it’s because it’s this series, and not a.. uh, “special” one.

There's gonna be 4 more parts to this arc?

Half glad that it's getting the gravitas it needs, half wishing it'll be over soon

JUDGING from RAW, author made two ending, one seems rushed and quick end, the other one seems more detailed ending, but basically both have same ending, the longer ending seems have more story plotwise and explanation and proper story telling

like LOTR extended edition

why would it be gross? it's like everyone besides the fmc saw it like that. It's not like Mark is her biological son? even step son is calling it weird, as he said they are more like friends and the best part is that the boy even realized that even if he had an easy path this way he knows Celestine truly loves his dad.

I don't think I've liked an amnesia arc in any kind of media,it always just feels like a slog till it reaches completion
I think it's cause they always end with the memory returning so you're just waiting for it to return with everything else being more or less set dressing.

If more stories ended with it never coming back or something weirder happening like them getting replaced with false ones then actual stakes come into play. Though I'm no writer. I just keep having the thought, "I know the ending already just get on with it!".

So from what I'm guessing, the brother probably has her toy bear hidden somewhere and it was either part of the spell to steal her memory, or just a way for him to be like "I have a piece of her! I have her favorite thing!"
She's going to end up finding it in a shrine or something along that vein, realize "Oh shit, my brother has been messing with me since I was a child (Reading her that book to shape her image of an ideal love, and then making himself a princely character) and I need to undo this!" And then runs to her husband crying sorry, and crushes her brother for messing with her family.

:this: All of this. I came to the realization recently that I can’t stand amnesia arcs anymore because it’s so overdone and almost always ends the same way, especially if played for drama in a romance story.

There have been some exceptions, like if it’s played for comedy instead, or if they do something interesting with it. Like there was one where the ML’s feelings of love were taken instead of his memories but it was basically an amnesia arc and it turned out really interesting (and it ended quickly).

I realized I’m not into amnesia arcs when there was this manhwa that was fast paced but really sweet and gooey. And then amnesia arc showed up and the pacing came to a grinding halt. 😓 can’t stand it lol

Posted my spoilers in chapter 11 but I didn't expect this chapter 12 was split that many parts so after this is should be

If anyone wants to know the conclusion and where we are at now it's this

  • brother came to fetch her
  • new dude appear
  • luka fever so celestine went back
  • mark got stab
  • celestine realise its the new dude doings
  • memory back

Prime Minister caught the dude attacked Celestine and Clara on the streets. But he said before he know he was caught and got into the prison cell. He doesn't recognize or know what happened.

Celestine went into her brother room and happen to find another letter (probs by Clara?). She was angry and told her brother to not hide things that people sent to her ever again

oh btw, there's a new dude appear. Some guy she met when she was young. Had the same mindset that the prime minister is forcing Celestine 🙄 That dude came from another country (apparently same country as the sussy merchant mentioned above) dude was accusing prime minister for doing all shit to his countrymen. yada yada but it's the usual troupe of this manga

Luka got a fever and I think Celestine maternal sense urges her to go back to the mansion to check on Luka.

Celestine mentioned shes gonna stay (her memory is not back yet)

When Mark got stabbed Celestine be like I'll go to the hospital, the dude mentioned earlier (I'm just gonna call him dude because can't be bothered) was saying "The man that stabbed people is not caught yet you going alone is too dangerous!"

When Mark woke up, Celestine told him that the man is not caught yet. Then Mark questioned and asked how did she know is a man that stabbed him. That's when the dots connects in Celestine mind

But basically Celestine's brother have nothing to do with this (I thought he's the mastermind), Prime Minister told him that he's too naive that's why he got tricked.
