poor author, cant escape Squid girl...
They had two very successful serializations (ika musume 400 chapters, atsumare almost 400 chapters) while they might always be known for ika musume(Fair enough its quite good) I dont think they are exactly pigeon holed as the ika musume author. itd be like saying arakawa hiromu is just the full metal achemist author and ignoring silver spoon.

Sad to see this end so soon, but I felt like it didn't have the staying power or variety of Atsumare! Fushigi Kenbu.

That manga went on almost as long as squid girl, and personally, I felt it was better. The art at least, was a big upgrade. Hopefully the author does something else soon (if he feels up for it) that's satisfying to create and fun for us.

to echo everyone else, having two back-to-back serializations that each lasted 8+ years is pretty incredible. idk why Atsumare never got animated, but Anbe Masahiro has already had a legendary career in my books.

Eclair didn't call Maya a "dick", chinchin (which CAN mean penis) is a dog trick where the dog sits upright and it looks like begging. However, when a male dog does it, they are essentially showing off their chinchins. Eclair was trying another command to get Maya to obey.

Noted, I’ll get it fixed when I can, but that honestly makes a lot more sense.

Thanks for the info and explanation though!

Final chapters already? Awww.
That said, I kinda understand. While the concept is amusing and the characters are good looking, the series never went full on with the fanservice nor the comedy. It needed to be more over the top in both fronts to be long lasting, unfortunately it didn't quite reach the potential it had.

Reminds me of Saki-chan wa Inma no Ko, that also had a fanservicey premise but failed to go all out on both the comedy and the fanservice, so it ended up half assed in both fronts. These types of mangas need to go all out on their premises or they fail to garner much interest.
